The Stampede Way

The Stampede WayTake charge of yourself; you are responsible for you.
Show respect; every person is important.
Give your best effort; your work represents you.
Listen to others and they will listen to you.

Arcadia Elementary School implemented "The Stampede Way" at the beginning of the 2020-2021 school year. Our focus is on positive behavior and character education. We have had the opportunity to send two cohorts of teachers to Hope Academy in conjunction with Samford University to bring back positive behavior strategies that can be used with our students. Every student is assigned to a herd and has the opportunity to build positive relationships with students in every grade level while forming bonds with other teachers in the school. There is a time set aside in the schedule every morning to focus on character development that we call Stampede Time. It is our belief that to best serve our students we must prepare them socially, emotionally, as well as academically.

Arcadia's Core Values

Be Respectful.
Be Responsible.
Be Resourceful.
Be Resilient.

Our Herds program started in the 2023-2024 school year. Every student is sorted into a Herd Team (Red, Yellow, Green, Blue) that represents one of our school's core values, and our teams work together to define what each value looks like at Arcadia. As our Herds groups do more work, we will update our student-led core values to reflect their ideas and perspectives.
